Delay in expansion work

I wonder why there is delay in expansion work of coimbatore airport. Sheldom i hear the news about expansion work. Why the coimbatore region politicians are not taking any steps to improve the airport?. Land acquisition should be done soon and airport expansion , new terminal building should completed as soon as possible. Otherwise all airlines will move to nearby airports. Why not coimbatore airport also privatised like mumbai and delhi?. I think that would be the better option for coimbatore airport.
